Iceland... the land of fire and ice and one of nature's shining examples of extremes!
I traveled to Iceland in 2017 to do a bit of exploring and to shake off a creative rut. It was also to go on a second date with the amazing woman who would soon after become my wife... But that’s a story for another time!
I arrived a week or so before the spring solstice with my woolly socks, a ton of camera gear and a massive rolling case containing my drone. The epic views and unpredictability of the weather made for an awe-inspiring experience. The timing of my stay proved to be perfect because I was able to experience the deep freeze of winter as well as a quick thaw to gorgeous spring weather that revealed new geology and life beneath the snow and frost. To say it was an unforgettable, life altering experience would be an understatement. If you get the opportunity to visit, whether to explore or for a second date - go!
